Of all the things Trump could have said, this one sent me packing.

It’s not only that I tried my level best to contribute to the ideals he outlined over and over: ending corruption, restoring freedom and shoring up our democracy for the good of the Nation.

It is that calling Jews disloyal is shorthand for saying: The enemy is within, and we need to deal with them expeditiously.

I never thought I would see the day when Trump would turn on the Jews, but it seems that day did arrive.

The positive side of this happening is that he actually served to unite us. We are a fractious bunch, but we also know when our backs are up against the wall.

You should never idolize a person, but it’s clear to me that I really did, and God has a way of setting our paths straight when we go astray.

I am grateful for that, and for every good thing that citizenship in this wonderful Nation has afforded me. It is a rare privilege and I cherish it.

Even if some people see Jews as disloyal, I think we actually love it here so very much, it would be hard to leave if the Messiah did arrive with a clearly designated nametag.

Maybe that is the point.
