The incident with little Nazi Nick Fuentes and mentally ill MKULTRA victim Ye left me reeling not because of what they said but because President Trump went after Jewish people for being “disloyal” to him.
Ever since, I have been crying inside, actually not just inside but outside as well, not to mention extremely angry. This is not how it was supposed to end, I kept saying to myself. I did not waste six and a half years of my life writing about a FRAUD. Impossible!
I woke up this morning and realized the truth: We have been played by the devil himself.
It is logically impossible to say that President Trump hates Jews, because he hires us, is surrounded by us, was always extremely pro-Israel, and spoke movingly and mournfully after we were assailed. In fact one could say that he speaks as one of us, as one Jewish person speaks to another.
So what happened with that dinner after all? How is it that Nick Fuentes ended up having dinner with the President and the President doesn’t repudiate him vocally?
I believe that Ye snuk Fuentes in because Trump has a blind spot for his friends. I believe that Fuentes was not properly vetted.
I believe that when Trump and Fuentes sat together at dinner, Trump did not know who he was talking to and Fuentes is an intelligent Nazi. He knows how to keep the Jewish stuff out of the conversation, which of course led Trump to affirm the smart things he said without realizing he was sitting in front of a bigot.
Remember how Trump stood up to the KKK guy at the rally until they got him out, too.
Once Ye revealed that Trump had dinner with a Nazi, Trump was boxed into a corner as the worst fears of us Jewish people were triggered. There is something very deep and visceral inside our bodies and souls which remembers the gas chambers and does not ever want to go back there. We looked to Trump to say something that would reassure us, but of course he could not say anything without digging himself deeper and deeper into a political hole.
What do we do now?
The Christians say to “walk by faith and not by sight.” I believe that we must walk by faith right now and remember who this man is and what he stands for.
Somehow, Trump was set up in a very evil and terrible way, and it almost worked, except that I remembered that you should judge someone by their history of behavior and not just for one moment.
It is true that a faction of Trump’s base consists of extremist Christian nationalists who hate Jews either overtly or covertly, for whatever reason. Maybe mistrust is the better word.
But it is also true that the anti-Trump elements hate us Jews, and we don’t need to go into detail about that except to acknowledge it.
So we are surrounded by antisemites, and no amount of education is going to stop them, because this is the world we live in and so be it.
The question is what do we, as Jews, do for this wonderful Nation, which has graciously given us a home even though we are not the religious majority?
Here, I take the wise counsel of my wonderful father, who says that the President must do what is good for the country, and in that regard there is no better Patriot than President Trump.
My father is right.
