This morning I woke up to a note left on social media by a survivor. The details are not for certain social media platforms. But the problem is that her “unsayable” experience informs the public policies we debate.
How do you address the real issues when all the information is not out there on the table?
The issues my friend is dealing with, generally speaking, involve her status as a person targeted by corrupt officials. She was attacked when she was alone and not securely housed.
Regardless of her situation, one thing is clear to me: All the fighting between different politicians is not helping my friend. I don’t like mean-spirited attacks on each other, either. We need to just focus on the basics. Safe housing. Food. Safe schools. Police on the streets. And so on.
