Et Tu, Roger Stone?

The political landscape in MAGA circles has always been a volatile mix of loyalty, betrayal, and unfiltered online skirmishes. But few feuds have escalated as quickly or as viciously as the one unfolding between longtime Trump ally Roger Stone and fiery investigative journalist Laura Loomer.

What began as Loomer’s pointed criticism of Tucker Carlson’s apparent coziness with Qatar—a nation she accuses of funding terrorism and undermining Trump’s Middle East peace efforts—has spiraled into personal attacks, accusations of foreign influence, and calls for psychiatric intervention.1

At the heart of it all? A deeper struggle over influence in the Trump orbit and what “America First” truly means.

This isn’t just Twitter drama; it’s a window into the fractures threatening the movement as Trump prepares for his return. Stone, a self-proclaimed “Trump loyalist” and veteran operative, has unleashed a barrage of tweets that question Loomer’s motives, intellect, and mental health. Loomer, unbowed, fires back with demands for transparency. And caught in the crossfire? Everyday patriots trying to discern who’s fighting for Trump and who’s sabotaging him from within.

To understand the full scope of this betrayal, it’s essential to trace its origins back to the spark that ignited the fire. Loomer’s initial critique wasn’t isolated; it built on longstanding suspicions about foreign meddling in conservative media. From there, the exchange devolved rapidly, revealing not just personal animosities but broader ideological rifts. Let’s break it down chronologically, tweet by tweet, to see how this unfolded—and why it feels like a direct shot at the man both claim to champion.

The Spark: Stone’s Initial Attack on Loomer

The conflict erupted on December 7, 2025, when Loomer highlighted Carlson’s announcement earlier that day of buying property in Qatar. She framed this as a betrayal of Trump’s Abraham Accords, suggesting it opened a gateway for Qatari influence in the incoming administration.2

Stone, perhaps sensing an opportunity to defend his friend or assert his own standing, didn’t hold back.

At 12:15 PM ET, he posted this inflammatory reply, quoting Loomer’s tweet:

Tweet Text: “Due to the ability to quite legally obtain all of Laura Loomer’s bank and financial records offshore very soon you’ll know exactly who’s paying her and why. Tucker Carlson will always be Laura Loomer’s intellectual superior and no amount of her annoying whining and will ever change that.”

This opening salvo was anything but subtle. By implying Loomer was a paid operative—possibly foreign-funded—Stone not only elevated Carlson as her “superior” but also invoked an “offshore” reference that echoed longstanding smears.

Given Loomer’s vocal pro-Israel stance, this served as a dog whistle to accusations of Mossad or Israeli influence.

As a former Project Veritas operative and self-described “Feisty Jewess,” Loomer has endured such antisemitic tropes for years due to her unapologetic Zionism.

Stone escalated just four minutes later, turning the rhetoric even more vicious:

Tweet Text: “Laura Loomer and Tucker Carlson are both longtime friends of mine but Laura needs psychiatric help for her obsession regarding Tucker. Frankly, if I were him, I’d sue the fuck out of her because there is not a lawyer in the United States willing to defend her. See a shrink Laura you ain’t right in the head.”

With this, the attacks shifted from insinuation to outright personal assault: claims of mental instability, threats of lawsuits, and dismissive condescension.

The response was immediate and fierce.

Loomer’s supporters flooded the replies, with one user (@SuziBKota) declaring, “I’ll take Loomer over Qatarlson everyday of the week,” linking the feud back to fears of Qatari meddling.

Others, like @emilyraustin, turned the tables: “Tucker needs help for his Israel obsession.”

As the evening wore on, the backlash only intensified, setting the stage for Stone’s attempted retreat.

The Escalation: Denial, Deflection, and My Response

By the evening of December 7, the mounting criticism forced Stone into damage control mode. At 8:07 PM ET, he issued two clarifications in quick succession, aiming to soften his stance while preserving the core accusations:

Tweet Text: “To be clear I have never said or alleged that my friend Laura Loomer was paid by Israel or the Mossad. Laura is an intrepid investigator and a free spirit, I enjoyed working with her on the complete exposure of Ron DeSantis . That said some of her posts are paid for by intersts that compensate her, I sometimes disagree with their views and motives I never been compensated for a post .My posts reflect my own views”

And right on its heels:

Tweet Text: “That said I think her obsession with my friend Tucker carlson is unhealthy”

These posts rang hollow to many, as the “paid posts” insinuation lingered like smoke from a dying fire. Replies accused Stone of hypocrisy, with @HueyJackNation writing, “She is 100% paid by Israel… just like Officer Tatum and Mark Levin.” As a longtime vocal supporter of both Loomer and Trump, I found the Mossad smear particularly egregious and felt compelled to respond.

I confronted him head-on:

Tweet Text: “Are you seriously trying to attack Laura Loomer by calling her a Mossad agent, Roger Stone? Old and tired nonsense from an old and tired, failed political hack. She has more loyalty to the USA than you could ever muster.”

Stone’s retort came swiftly at 4:43 AM ET, dripping with gaslighting:

Tweet Text: “No, I never said anything of the kind. Please get the psychiatric help that you need.”

This only fueled the fire. Undeterred, I followed up, screenshotting his original “offshore” tweet for evidence:

Tweet Text: “Good to know. So how about you spell out exactly what you are accusing @LauraLoomer of and back it up with receipts?” (Includes screenshot of Stone’s offshore tweet)

I circled back to his “shrink” comment as well:

Tweet Text: “Oh, look…you called Laura crazy, too. So when that tactic didn’t work, you called her intellectually inferior and implied she’s taking money from a foreign source (but not Mossad!) Why are you so desperate to attack Laura Loomer, Roger Stone?” (Includes screenshot of Stone’s “shrink” tweet)

Loomer herself entered the fray at 6:01 AM ET, her response raw and unfiltered:

Tweet Text: “What does this even mean? Stop implying that I have foreign bank accounts. I do not. You know what you’re trying to imply by suggesting I’m A foreign agent and it’s just totally absurd and completely dishonest. Don’t say you’re my friend when you post blatant lies about me. You know what you’re saying is a total lie. It’s disgusting.”

Solidarity poured in from allies. @Based_Barbie_ noted: “He’s been threatening this for awhile yet can never seem to post receipts…”

I had earlier clarified my position to someone who called me “full of shyt”:

Tweet Text: “Oh really? First of all, if I am going to accuse someone of something, I do it directly and bring proof. Second of all, Laura Loomer has repeatedly been called Mossad for her support of Israel. Roger knows this and implied she’s is on a foreign payroll (“offshore.”). 1 + 1”

To Stone, @DavidMusiker added:

“You certainly implied that! I’d take Laura’s opinions ahead of all the others especially the defamed Stone!”

Loomer doubled down:

Tweet Text: “Because there aren’t any. I don’t have foreign accounts. He is lying.”

My own contributions continued. I shared archival clips of Stone’s past rages:

Tweet Text: “Hey Roger, this you? Perhaps you are the one who needs to see a therapist. Anger management works!” (Includes three screenshots of Stone’s past outbursts)

I tied it to a larger betrayal:

Tweet Text: “The truth is that you’re a violent animal, who turned on @POTUS, and your attack on @LauraLoomer is an effort to get rid of Trump. Your friend @TuckerCarlson similarly expressed his hatred of the President. Two-faces the both of you.” (Includes photo of Stone)

Earlier, before even reading Stone’s tweet about Laura Loomer, I’d already contextualized his actions within the wider web of MAGA infighting:

Tweet Text: “Bill Barr Tucker Carlson Candace Owens Nick Fuentes Milo Yiannopolous Roger Stone Mike Flynn Marjorie Taylor Green Steve Bannon And even Donald Trump, Jr. All of them have their own interests. There is only ONE Donald J. Trump. I stand by @POTUS.” (Quoting a post about Barr’s alleged coordination with Fani Willis)

It is a pattern of disloyalty that undermined the very movement Stone once helped build.

It’s All About Getting Trump

To grasp the true stakes here, one must look beyond the tweets to Stone’s track record. His history isn’t one of unwavering loyalty to Trump; it’s marred by threats against the former president himself. In the 2022 documentary A Storm Foretold, directed by Christoffer Guldbrandsen, Stone ranted: “I say f— the voting, let’s get right to the violence.”3

He also called Ivanka Trump an “abortionist b**ch” in leaked audio.4 And in another clip, he fantasized about assassinating Democratic leaders, a revelation that drew Capitol Police scrutiny.5

These incidents aren’t distant memories or youthful indiscretions; they form a disturbing pattern of volatility and self-interest. Stone’s vigorous defense of Carlson—who has been wined and dined by Qatar while downplaying Hamas atrocities—seems less like fraternal protection and more like a calculated move to destabilize Trump’s inner circle.6

Loomer, for all her intensity, isn’t flawless, but her alerts on Qatari influence echo Trump’s own prior condemnations of the regime. Stone, by contrast, appears to be gatekeeping, vilifying challengers to maintain his perch.

This escalation didn’t end with the clarifications; it lingered in the air, with Stone’s denials failing to erase the damage. As @Based_Barbie_ observed, he’s “been threatening this for awhile yet can never seem to post receipts.” No proof of Loomer’s alleged foreign ties has emerged because none exists—the “foreign agent” label is little more than antisemitic shorthand for her Israel advocacy, and Stone is well aware of its toxicity.

A Call for True Loyalty

Ultimately, this feud lays bare the rot within: self-serving influencers elevating egos and shadowy patrons above core principles.

Trump deserves allies who put “America First” into practice, not spectacle.
