I want to talk to you about what Hanukkah means to me. It’s not just the day when I met my husband, although that is honestly the best day of my life. It also means having an understanding of the concept of light and lighting up the darkness and not just speaking up against bad things and being the only voice when nobody else will speak.
It means something inside yourself. You need to light yourself up. You need to be happy. When you’re happy, you create a happy life. That is the essence of lighting up the darkness. It’s the darkness of the soul. It’s the depression. It’s the inertia. You’ve got to wake yourself up and shake yourself up. And when you do that, your life actually changes for the better.
