Clarification: No Technology on Shabbat

Hi everyone,

In Judaism, misleading others (Lifnei Iver) is a serious matter and a sin.

So I’m writing this to apologize. In a recent post, I spoke about Shabbat in a way that was misleading about what is and isn’t allowed on the Jewish day of rest. For that, I sincerely apologize.

The use of technology is prohibited on Shabbat. That is the law and the tradition that has preserved the sanctity of the day for generations.

I also need to be honest about where I am personally. The truth is, I do use technology on Shabbat.

Lin Wood says that he is an “imperfect” man. I too am imperfect. By not being upfront about my own habits in my previous post, I created a confusion that I deeply regret.

By glossing over the rules, I failed to respect the boundaries of the Halakha and I failed to be transparent with you.

My goal moving forward is to be much more careful with how I discuss these topics, ensuring I don’t misrepresent the law just because I am personally falling short of it.

Thank you for holding me accountable and for being part of this journey with me—imperfections and all.
