New video from ICE Agent Jonathan Ross POV. This was clearly the women’s fault — Rebecca and Renee Good.
Ramming attacks against ICE agents are up exponentially, but they were intentionally provoking a confrontation for social media purposes.
Blocking the operation (it wasn’t just “observing,” this was a vehicle obstructing the roadway) then taunting the agent while filming was a team effort to goad the ICE agent into an angry reaction. (Renee was a trained “ICE Watch activist.”)
The provocation in the context of a vehicle ramming plague was a deadly combination. Renee Good backed up then lunged forward, hitting ICE Agent Jonathan Ross after he audibly told her a few times to get out of the car.
Some protesters there were getting paid. It makes you wonder whether the Rebecca and Renee were too.
Either way this was well within the appropriate use of deadly force.
When law enforcement tells you to get out of the vehicle and you ignore them, keep talking, back up and speed forward INTO THE ICE AGENT’S BODY, expect gunshots.
She wasn’t panicked at all, and he was directly hit in the hip. Under Supreme Court precedents like Graham v. Connor, an officer can use deadly force if they have an objectively reasonable belief that they face an “imminent threat of death or serious injury.”
Note: You can hear the gunshots at the very end.
