Sometimes your closest “friends” turn out to be your worst enemies.
In November 2018, Jeffrey Epstein messaged Steve Bannon, advising him to launch a media platform as a form of “protection” against his critics and legal scrutiny.
Bannon followed through on this suggestion by starting his War Room podcast the following year. FBI records later confirmed the association between the two men, documenting their communication during this period and highlighting how their professional circles overlapped.
Through these connections, Epstein introduced Bannon to Patrick Byrne, the former CEO of Overstock.
Byrne is a controversial figure who claimed to have worked with the CIA and was known for his romantic relationship with Maria Butina, a convicted Russian agent.
This connection eventually led to the 2020 post-election period, where Byrne joined figures like Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn at a high-level White House meeting. There, he reportedly advocated for the use of martial law and the military seizure of voting machines to challenge the election results.
