So Rahm Emanuel, who was former president Obama’s chief of staff, was famous for saying, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.” And I can’t help but think after this crisis with the downed US pilot in Iran who was rescued, that this is one of those moments. The pilot was in such huge danger. We were all holding our breath. Everyone was holding their breath because we knew what the Iranians would do to him if they caught him. And it was a moment where the truth finally came out because it was a crisis.
That moment, which thankfully has passed since he’s been rescued, is no doubt going to become a major talking point — that beyond all the propaganda, the lies, the social media bots, we know the kind of beasts that are in the regime.
