I thought I would talk about just one of my many timeline cleanses, which I tend to do when I’m migrating my blog, which gets pretty big.
When I’m done with an issue, when an issue I have researched is so gross that it’s just grossing up my timeline. So it was 2016, some of you may remember Pizzagate, and I was researching the Instagram posts of James Alefantis.
If you don’t know who that is, I’m not going to introduce you to him. Let’s just say Comet Ping Pong and all the stuff he had on there, and I was posting it to prove he was a pretty gross guy. I had to delete it.
Another example of a timeline cleanse was the war between Ukraine and Russia. The Ukrainian Azov guys were tying the Roma to Poles and whipping them with, let’s just say, objects that were not nice. When you want to prove something on social media, you often have to literally flood the feed with garbage.
It’s garbage you don’t like and that you don’t particularly want to see, but it’s garbage that needs to be shared for others to believe that something is very wrong. In the context of my support for Raphi Stein and how he has been viciously pursued and defamed, that has not changed. I just don’t want to gunk up my timeline with all this stuff, and I also don’t want to get into personal, you know, tit for tat with people.
I feel like my blog speaks for me in the end, and I’m pretty comfortable with that.
