FlatbushGirl explains to Daniel Mael why intermarriage is both halachically desirable and the fault of Gett refusers. 🙄

DM: “But why do you care about the process at all? If you’re willing to encourage Jewish women to marry non-Jewish men, then why do you even care about any of the process?

FG: “Because the children are still Jewish. There’s no halachic violation. It’s not assimilation. It’s assimilation when the mother isn’t Jewish.

DM: “I would argue it’s still assimilation. You’re saying you’re are still halachically Jewish, but you’re still assimilating culturally.

FG: “Yeah, but we’ve assimilated culturally in the way we’re using Gitten as a form of Catholicism to pretend that Jewish marriage is some sort of prison, and where we’re enabling abusers to weaponize a halachic system in order to keep women chained and to not pay for child support and to obstruct the dissolution of a marriage.

“Who’s the person who is allowing for cultural assimilation and infusion that compromises the integrity of the community? It’s the Gett refusers.

“This is a response to what they are doing already. If you want to bemoan and have grief and (inaudible) over this, you should do it over the fact that the Gett refusers put us in this situation, and the enabling parties are perpetuating them.”
