Radical Islamists use rape and sexual slavery deliberately to terrorize civilians, punish communities, force displacement, assert control, and generate cash.

They destroy the lives of women both Muslim and non-Muslim.

Then they hop on to LinkedIn and X and cry victim for Gaza. When they’re not doing that they pledge world liberation through “decolonization.”

1) Congo: UN documentation has implicated groups including M23, CODECO, Mai-Mai factions, the FDLR and the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an ISIS-affiliated Islamist organization. State security forces have also been implicated.

2) Iraq: ISIS systematically abducted, raped, trafficked and sexually enslaved Yazidi women and girls, explicitly incorporating slavery into its ideology and using trafficking and ransom to generate revenue.

3) Chad: Boko Haram and other Islamist terrorist organizations have similarly subjected women and girls to forced marriage, sexual slavery and exploitation.

4) Israel: The October 7 Hamas-led attacks provide another documented example. Rape and gang rape occurred at multiple locations, including the Nova festival and Kibbutz Re’im, and hostages were subjected to sexual violence in captivity.

5) Iran: The Islamic Republic, including security forces and the IRGC, has systematically repressed women, dissidents, ethnic minorities, and religious minorities—including Sunni Muslims.

Radical Islamist perpetrators are not synonymous with Muslims. Muslims are not a monolith—and millions of Muslims have themselves been victims of Islamist extremism and authoritarian regimes operating in the name of Islam.

But naming perpetrators precisely is not an indictment of a religion.

It is a prerequisite for protecting victims.
