AI Is Essential To Open-Source Research

Lots going on today, but I want to talk a little bit about how AI helps me as an open source researcher.

You know, if I were to try to find all the information that I need on any given day to deal with the flood of information coming at us, and then if I were to try to synthesize it quickly in the small amount of personal time that I have, it would be very hard to cover nearly all the stories that are coming at us.

And I know that because I spent a lot of time working basically without AI and it was hard.

And the amount of time that I invested in things, which now take me 10 minutes, it was astronomical.

What I want to share with people is anyone can do this. You do not need to be a sophisticated technology person.

You do not need to know code.

You need to have basic common sense, critical thinking, and the willingness to learn.

And beyond that, you need to know what question are you asking? That’s it. You know the question you’re asking, and you have the ability to feed it into the AI.

Check that what the AI is telling you is not being made up.

Often I’ll cross-check it against other AI and news sources to double, triple, and quadruple check about accuracy.

You can be an open source researcher, and we really need more people out there with a microphone, a camera, a keyboard, and basic decency.

It’s not about having an agenda or an ideology. It is about holding people in power to accountability.

I speak only in my own capacity.

I really enjoy the research that I do and I enjoy reading others’ research as well.

Take care.
