Sometimes the issue is not what you think. I am posting this to highlight that Adeena Kohn’s case may be a bigamy prevention issue not a Gett refusal one.
The below puts together the case history with multiple comments/rumor/allegations.

1) The medical emergency was a allegedly pretext to get to Monsey. (This was not what I had read.) Note: I do not have access to medical documentation or proof either way.
2) Adeena allegedly engaged a divorce lawyer while telling Raphi she wanted to work it out.
3) Adeena allegedly told Raphi that his moving to Monsey would alleviate the marriage issues but this was another tactic and not genuine.
4) Adeena told Raphi she wasn’t bringing the children back to Montreal and initiated the civil divorce.
5) Adeena allegedly found someone else she wants to marry in the USA.
6) The civil divorce case became protracted by the international custody and financial issues.
7) Regardless of the civil divorce case, Raphi allegedly offered Adeena a Gett if she would forfeit certain moneys. She refused.
8) There is a seruv against Raphi in the case. However, the Beis Din allegedly will not release the Gett anyway, even if it is offered and accepted, until the civil case is closed, to prevent bigamy as this has allegedly become a problem among Jewish women specifically in Monsey (remarrying before the civil case is settled).
9) Allegedly knowing the position of the Beis Din, Adeena engaged FlatbushGirl (Adina Sash) to initiate an agunah campaign to speed up the Gett process. Presumably Sash is also aware.
10) To all appearances, Adeena and Adina colluded to whip up the collective anger and concern of the Jewish community around the Agunah issue, which is a real issue, each for their own personal gain. Kohn to pressure Rafi and the Beis Din; Sash for the victory she could add to her marketing roster as a case study.
11) Flatbush girl started a smut campaign and women responded. She then tried to pressure influencers to participate. When people like me objected she attacked their integrity or threatened them as in my case eg “you should be reported” “ty for adding to my file on you”.
12) People online are discussing this case without understanding it, like it’s an issue of women being abused rather than two women abusing sympathy for abused women.
13) All of this incitement has led to verbal harassment of Stein in real life, calls to bother the associates of Stein and Kohn, and a call to kick FlatbushGirl and her family out of the community, shul, etc. and locate the women who participated in the smut campaign.
14) The cumulative effect has been to drive a wedge into the religious community and perpetuate bigotry against frum Jews by non-frum Jews.
