I am going to anonymize the following anecdote for the sake of the safety of the person who spoke with me today.

This person is from a country where people are not free.

They’re not Jewish.

I mentioned October 7 being a very traumatic turning point in my life as it has no doubt been for most of you who are reading this.

The other person said that in their country the same things happen as on October 7 — all the time.

This country spies on its citizens even after they leave.

In country and outside it, there is absolutely no freedom of speech.

The country commits the most horrific crimes even against its own people and everyone is afraid to breathe word of it.

Cherish your freedom. Use your speech for the good.
