Back in the 2000s when the pedophile rabbis got away with serially attacking children, one question came to my mind over and over again: Why don’t the rabbis stop them?
I still can’t answer that question, but there is one thing that I do know. For every victim who speaks out, there are many more who don’t.
Now start adding and multiplying. The community is well aware of the problems. They are just frozen. They don’t know what to do.
Pedophiles, meanwhile, are compelled to reoffend. This means that their behavior is perpetually out of control. At some point they meet up against the law.
It’s really the same with any criminal who gets away with something, they get a high off their behavior, and they keep on pushing the limits to see just how far they can take it.
Everywhere you look, there is corruption. But as I discovered when writing my most recent book, From Tyranny to Freedom, there are also legions of people talking.
The book I wrote was presaged by The Cluetrain Manifesto (2000). It spoke of the power of individuals to resist tyranny by working around the formal structures of power.
