Okay, so let’s talk about this genocide narrative and how it evolved with new information from Motaz Azaiza—and I know I’m not pronouncing his name correctly, so please forgive me. What we learned from Motaz, who was prominently featured by the children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel, is that he spoke on a recent podcast, an Arabic-language podcast. This guy has been widely celebrated for his coverage of October 7th, but he was unusually frank and honest, saying things that were pretty damning.

So, one of the things that he said was that Hamas controlled the media. I mean, it’s not surprising, but he told us how that happened. He told us that there was a WhatsApp group called SMART—S-M-A-R-T, SMART—and all the Palestinian freelancers, journalists, and so on (maybe one wasn’t in it, but the major ones were) were in it and basically coordinating with the Hamas terrorists who carried out October 7th to have their coverage of what was going on in Gaza filtered.

Now, the external, mainstream media was not allowed into Gaza. So, where did the New York Times, Reuters, and CNN get their sources from? Well, they were getting the sources from the Palestinians who had their information laundered through Hamas. And so you had the perfect storm because the major media outlets could claim that they were representing the Palestinians, but they weren’t.

They were representing Hamas, sort of whitewashed through local residents. And so, of course, when average people heard these news stories in the major American media, they said, “Israel is carrying out a genocide. I saw it. I saw it on CNN. I saw it in the New York Times. Israel is lying.”

So this is sort of tracing what happened and its disastrous effects. That’s number one. Number two, I have to ask this question: How did Hamas come up with the name “Smart” for a group, seeing as it’s a very Western name? And so the fact that it was named Smart and not something in Arabic—remembering that this is all Palestinians—leads me to think that there was Western influence at work. And that is a thread that should be followed up on in some detail. WhatsApp hosting it, a group named Smart, seemingly local Palestinian people filtering to the major news media, a huge impact on public perception, and the blood libel against the Jewish people.
