Jack Posobiec did nothing wrong. The recent flare-up between Laura Loomer and John Solomon over a routine FARA filing involving a Qatar-linked PR firm and Human Events is a textbook case of public records being stretched into insinuation—and it is already producing predictable, damaging side effects.
What actually happened
A Qatar-representing firm filed a standard FARA report that logged outreach contacts. One entry noted an unsolicited text to someone at Human Events (Jack Posobiec’s outlet) asking whether a reporter could attend a briefing. John Solomon called the firm and confirmed the facts.
Solomon stated:
“Laura, you list yourself on X as a reporter. Here’s what a reporter does. They call and find out what happened. I did. I called the firm representing Qatar that filed the report. They said a firm representative sent an unsolicited text message to Jack asking if a Human Events reporter could attend a briefing. No one from Human Events replied. That’s it.
Your replies below add to the evidence of your inaccurate reporting and inaccurate understanding of FARA reports… Look at the tweets that have ensued since your reckless reporting. You have falsely led people into thinking news brands we own are paid agents of Qatar just because a firm made an unsolicited text message that went unanswered and then reported the effort on FARA as required by law.”

In an earlier response he added:
“Laura, this is a reckless series of posts worthy of Joe McCarthy. As our lawyers will soon make clear to you, your insinuation that JTN or any of its employees are engaged in a ‘money exchange’ or a ‘pay and bribe’ scheme with Qatar simply because they showed up in a FARA media contact report is demonstrably false and defamatory… You also deceptively trimmed the form to show just a FARA report of a text message to Jack seeking a meeting. Had you shown the more complete form to X readers they would see similar routine contacts with Fox News, The Daily Mail, Newsmax, CNN and NBC… Either way, you will get a retraction request from our lawyers.”

The same filing recorded parallel outreach to many other outlets. FARA requires the foreign-paid firm to disclose contacts; it does not turn an unanswered pitch into an agency relationship or payment.
The March 3 claim and its refutation
Eitan Fischberger highlighted a separate March 3 FARA entry noting a text to Human Events “flagging statement on Qatar air defense against Iran attack.” He pointed out that the same day Posobiec interviewed Alex Bruesewitz and the conversation touched on Qatari air defenses shooting down Iranian aircraft, asking whether it was a “coincidence.”
That framing collapses under basic scrutiny. Iranian strikes on Qatar and neighboring states, and Qatar’s interception of missiles, drones, and two Su-24 bombers, were major, widely reported news in early March 2026. CNN and other outlets ran detailed exclusive reporting on Qatari F-15s downing the Iranian bombers that had come within minutes of U.S. and Qatari targets. Covering breaking public events that dominated the news cycle is ordinary journalism, not evidence that an unanswered or routine PR text dictated content.
Mike Benz’s rebuke
Mike Benz cut through the noise directly:
“Laura should apologize to John Solomon and Jack Posobiec and issue a retraction or clarification immediately. These are extremely basic facts she got wrong. This is Russiagate-style stuff, but even Russiagaters didn’t make this kind of ground-level mistake before posting a story.”

He later reinforced the point: no one can stop receiving a text, and ignoring one does not make someone an “arm of an octopus.”
Jewish influencers piling on
Despite the thin evidence, several Jewish influencers amplified the smear. Sloan Rachmuth (who has positioned herself as a fierce Zionist and critic of antisemitism) posted aggressively, declaring “Jack Posobiec is a lobbyist for Qatar!!” and later claiming the timeline “suggests Poso is DIRECTLY lobbying for MB/Qatar.” She framed the FARA entries and the March 3 segment as damning coordination rather than routine outreach plus coverage of public news.
Others followed similar lines. These voices should know better than to trade in false or heavily overstated smears. When Jewish commentators lend credibility to weak guilt-by-association claims against figures who have not been shown to take money, accept briefings, or alter coverage in exchange for access, it erodes their own standing and hands ammunition to actual antisemites who already claim Jewish influence is the real story.
This will backfire
Loomer’s approach—highlighting a public FARA listing, emphasizing Posobiec’s name, and implying improper Qatar ties while downplaying the broader pattern of outreach to mainstream outlets—predictably produces three bad outcomes:
- It discredits genuine concerns about Qatari influence, funding of Islamist networks, and soft-power operations. When the most viral claims rest on unanswered texts and concurrent coverage of breaking news, skeptics reasonably dismiss the entire topic as conspiracy-mongering.
- It fuels antisemitic narratives. Overheated accusations that travel through Jewish influencers make it easier for bad actors to portray scrutiny of Qatar or Muslim Brotherhood networks as a Jewish plot against “America First” voices.
- It highlights a double standard. Loomer demands total transparency and accountability from others while refusing the same standard when her own reporting is shown to overreach. Solomon’s lawyers are already involved; she has shown no interest in correction or clarification.
Posobiec received an unsolicited text and did not reply. He covered major public news about Iranian attacks and Qatari intercepts that every serious outlet was covering. That is not a scandal. Treating it as one damages the very cause of exposing foreign influence and gives real bad actors an easy win.
Of particular concern is the danger of relying on deceptive tactics—the very methods that have historically harmed the Jewish community.
Legitimate concerns regarding Jack Posobiec’s rhetoric must be addressed through factual critique rather than indirect smears.
