“Big independent Gaza journalist” Motaz Azaiza, celebrated as a hero by “Ms. Rachel,” confesses to having his work funneled through Hamas.
In fact he filmed Israeli October 7 hostages being beaten in the street, but deleted the footage to protect those responsible.
Azaiza, one of the most prominent photojournalists covering Gaza, recently revealed in an Arabic-language interview that virtually every journalist in Gaza belonged to a WhatsApp group called “SMART” — administered by a Hamas media official — that coordinated messaging and managed the public narrative.
The same individual has also collaborated publicly with children’s educator Ms. Rachel, helping extend his platform into mainstream family audiences.
The admission was made during an Arabic podcast interview.
Azaiza—who gained millions of followers and international awards for his Gaza war coverage—also disclosed in the interview his childhood support for Hamas and described self-censorship practices among local media when criticism of the group arose.
Reports from sources including Jusoor News and i24NEWS corroborate the group’s existence via screenshots and confirm its role in directing Gaza media output, contrasting with Azaiza’s earlier Western-facing portrayal as an independent voice.
The media is ignoring this very significant story, of course, because they are not neutral but rather serve as a public relations service for the Left.
Meanwhile “Ms. Rachel” continues her harmful “crusade.”
With the cooperation of so many influential American figures and institutions, Hamas perpetrated a heinous crime on and after October 7 and then turned around and made itself the victim!
When the information environment in a conflict zone is actively shaped by one of the parties to the conflict, it carries serious implications for how the world understands events on the ground.
