In 1987, 15-year-old Brawley was found wrapped in trash bags, smeared with excrement, and claiming she had been kidnapped and raped by white law enforcement officers. A grand jury later concluded she fabricated the story—to avoid punishment for staying out late.
After an exhaustive investigation, a NY grand jury didn’t buy it.
One accused official successfully sued her and her advisers for defamation.
Now to Levine.
The Washington Post freelance photojournalist, who calls Palestinians her “colleagues,” says masked settlers knocked her down and kicked her during the October 16, 2026 olive-harvest clashes near Abu Falah.
“When they came running down… I was attacked, pushed to the ground…they just kept kicking me… like, probably 50 times. And then, AFTER LIKE 10 MINUTES [emphasis added]… they tried to get me to stand up, and then they pushed me down again and continued to kick me….they just broke everything off of me and continued kicking me.”
Levine was hit, and it’s wrong to hit journalists. But her central claim has a hole you can drive a truck through. Dozens of journalists were on the ground — Reuters, BBC, New York Times teams, plus Palestinian media filming continuously.
Not one camera has produced even two minutes of this alleged ten-minute assault.
From the looks of it, the entire thing lasted less than 10 seconds.
Ask the logical question. If 50 kicks rained down over 10 minutes in front of dozens of cameras, where is the footage?
Eight minutes?
Five?
Two?
The Binyamin Regional Council warned that very morning of a planned provocation: hundreds of Palestinians and far-left activists, journalists in tow, moving under cover of the olive harvest toward Israeli farms.
Palestinian-side footage itself documents stones and slingshots aimed at settlers, with journalists standing among the stone-throwers.
Levine arrived with the Palestinian group; she is filmed beside them.
She ended up on the ground deep among the settlers.
No footage shows how she got there.
Other footage shows her knocked down — and then immediately helped back up by an unidentified individual.
That is not the visual signature of a ten-minute kicking.
This is the pipeline, and it runs every harvest season: provoke, film the reaction, delete the context.
All footage of the incident comes from the Palestinian side. The “resistance.”
The footage isn’t just news — it’s political capital.
The “settler violence” brand is the moral fuel for the legal campaign against Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria: the ICJ advisory opinion, the Dutch ban on settlement goods that took effect September 22, 2026.
Demonize the residents, then legislate against their livelihoods.
The smear is the strategy.
Israel hasn’t dismissed these claims. They only ask that people allow the investigation to run its course.
